B58TU/S58 Oil Cap Breather

Introducing the new Ross Racing Oil Cap Breather!

 

Currently this is ONLY COMPATIBLE with the B58TU & S58! There is currently a B58 Gen1 Oil Cap Breather in the works though. Again, this oil cap breather will NOT fit Gen1 B58 motors!

 

There are currently a few oil cap breather options on the market but what sets the Ross Racing design apart is the double baffle! If you look closely you will notice that while the bottom section has multiple openings (first baffle), the direct middle section is blocked off. This was purposely done so that oil does not have a clear exit pathway, instead oil will be blocked but crankcase pressure will still be able to exit with no restriction! 

 

The next thing you will notice is that the oil cap breather is packed with baffle material (second baffle) that will help prevent any oil that does make it pass the first baffle from being able to exit. I have tested this double baffle design on my personal car and have had no issues with oil misting or coating my engine bay.

 

There are a few options depending on your setup:

 

  • The Oil Cap Breather by itself. It will still come double baffled but there will be only a plug fitting included. Any other fittings needed will need to be sourced on your own.

  • The Oil Cap Breather w/ Banjo Fitting. This option will allow you to run a dump hose to VTA or tie into an existing OCC.

  • The Oil Cap Breather w/ One Way Check Valve. This option will be similar to the banjo option but give you extra protection. At idle the check valve will stay closed and act like the OEM cap, but during WOT, it will allow the excess crankcase fumes to be vented to atmosphere (VTA). This option will also allow you to run a dump hose to VTA or tie into an existing OCC.

  • The Oil Cap Breather w/ Check Valve & Filter. This option retains the one way check valve but simplifies everything! You get the same extra protection because of the check valve and because it already has the filter, you leave it as is to vent to atmosphere (VTA). no need to run a dump hose or tie it into a catch can. 

 

Very straightforward setup that will have major benefits if you are dealing with a lot of excess crankcase pressure!

 

**Disclaimer** - For vehicles seeing over 35psi of boost, it is highly recommended to run this oil breather cap with the check valve into a properly baffled OCC. While you can still run it with the check valve and filter only setup, you may still see oil make it to the filter at higher boost levels, especially if you are still on the stock PCV.
